Work slowed down this season as Dave had his big annual show in February and needed serious studio time... we switch up studio/parenting time depending on who needs it most or who has a show looming in the near future! This balancing act seems to have worked thus far although I keep waiting for some sort of 'routine' to take hold... which it never does as work demands shift back and forth. The sooner I embrace our current 'routine' of unpredictable studio time, the better! Yes, I'll make my tea and run off the studio for that one hour of studio bliss... that always slips by in what seems like 15min! I can't complain, its quite an ideal and romantic lifestyle really. And as the spring rolls in, a more homesteading lifestyle will begin as well with huge vegetable gardens, a sauna, an outhouse, a large fire pit and chickens in the works for this summer.
I'm excited to photograph spring in the Valley, and hope its as glorious as I imagine it to be. There are wild apple and pear trees growing all through the woods behind our home and I image their blooms will be gorgeous. Until then, I will hunker down and fend off the cold, working away on commissions and small pieces for various galleries. We will be hosting Open Studio most weekends throughout the spring and summer as we gear up for fall shows so be sure to stop by for a sneak peek!
